Design and display
The HTC Desire 820G Plus offers the same design language that the other Desire series mid-range Android smartphones. The phone comes with a plastic body, which measures quite slim at 7.7mm and weighs just 154.5 grams, even being a phablet category offering. The smartphone comes with dual front-firing HTC BoomSound speakers for immersive media experience. Also, it supports the brand's Dot View Bright Display case, which show information right on the cover, without having the need to open it. The Desire 820G+ sports a large 5.5-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, resulting into pixel density of 267 pixels per inch. The device offers an impressive media experience with higher colour reproductions thanks to the HD screen panel.
Configuration and software
The HTC Desire 820G+ is one of the Android phones to offer octa-core performance for a budget. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor. The performance is further enhanced by a Mali 450-MP4 graphics processor and 1GB of RAM. On the software front, the HTC Desire 820G+ runs slightly dated Android 4.4 KitKat. However, the company is expected to upgrade the smartphone with the latest OS. The device has the brand's custom HTC Sense user interface on board, which comes with a plethora of software tweaks like HTC Zoe, Video Highlights, and HTC BlinkFeed news aggregator.
Camera and storage
To provide quality photography experience, the HTC Desire 820G Plus sports a decent 13-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash, a BSI sensor, and full HD video recording support. To capture quality self-portraits and video calling, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel secondary shooter with a BSI sensor and full HD video recording. The camera app of the phone comes pre-loaded with several software tweaks. For storage, the Desire 820G+ comes with a handsome 16GB of internal memory, which users can further be further increased by another 32GB by inserting a microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, the Desire 820G Plus offers the regular array of options including dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, FM Radio, and A-GPS. For long lasting gaming and web browsing seasons, the phone houses a 2,600mAh battery, which promises to deliver 12 hours of talk time and 560 hours of standby time.
